: Marvin P. Kooiman, 45, of Brandon, R. 2, died unexpectedly at 7:15 a.m. today at his home of an apparent heart attack.
He was born Dec. 24, 1920, in Edgerton, Minn., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hermon Kooiman. He had attended Western Christian High School, Hull, Iowa and Calvin College, Grand Rapids, Mich. He married Gladys Loomans, in June 1950. He was a member of the First Christian Reform Church, Waupun and the Men’s society. He had farmed for many years and at the present time was employed by the Westra Construction Co., Waupun.
Survivors include his widow; four sons, Howard, Merlin, David and Jermaine and four daughters, Linda, Emily, Marlyn and Judy, all at home, three brothers, Wilbert, California, Leslie, Denver, Colorado, and Orville, who resided with him in Brandon; and two sisters, Mrs. Adrian Kulpers, Edgertown, Iowa and John, Chandler Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Christian Reform Church. Burial will be in forest Mound Cemetery, Waupun. The body will be in state at the Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Waupun after 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The body will be moved to the family residence on Wednesday and be in state from afternoon until the time of the services Thursday.
