1910 : Grietje Siekman is born at the country village Uithuizen in the northern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen. Her parents are Hindrik Adolfs Siekman and Johanna Pieters Snijders.
She married at the age of 25 years on 29 March 1873 at her birthplace Uithuizen to the two years older iron smith Jan Bos. Her parents are then both farmer.
On 19 April 1893 Grietje and her husband Jan Bos, laborer, and their children Jan (17 y), Aaltje (16), Klaas (13), Anna (9), Adolf (7) and Martje (4) arrived on the SS Maasdam at New York, Ellis Island.
Their last residence place in the Netherlands was Spijk, a country village in the former municipality Bierum, since 1990 part of mun. Delfzijl, in the northeast of the province Groningen, and their destination is Bozeman, seat of Gallatin County, in the southwestern part of Montana.
