van 1908 tot 1992: Raymond Vander Meulen, 83, of Alton, died Sunday, June 21, 1992, at a Sioux City hospital
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Christian Reformed Church, Orange City, with Pastor Jack Gray officiating.
Burial will be at West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City. Visitation is alter 2 p.m. today (Tuesday) with the family present from 7 to 830 pan. at the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home at Orange City.
Mr. Vander Meulen was born Sept 16, 1908, at Sioux Center to John and Nellie (Kuiken) Vander Meulen. He moved with his family as a child from Sioux Center to Orange City. He married Effie Ravestein Jan. 31, 1935, at Orange City. They fanned at Middleburg for seven years and then at Newkirk for two years before moving to a farm east of Orange City. They entered semi-retirement in 1970 when they moved to Alton. He was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church at Orange City where he served as an elder on the consistory. Earlier he was active at the Middleburg Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Nelvia and Dick Vander Vegte of Phoenix, Ariz.; a son and his wife, Myron and Peggy Vander Meulen of Orange City; a granddaughter and her husband, Michelle (Shelly) and Kevin Van Peursem of Sioux Falls; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Van Peursem of Sioux Falls; and a sister, Gladys Smeenk of Harrisburg, S.D. bron: Le Mars Daily Sentinel van 23-6-1992
